Last updated: [date] · Applies to LifeInstaller and the LifeInstaller browser extension
LifeInstaller is provided by Excelor (Europe) Limited ("we", "us", "our"), a company based in the United Kingdom. LifeInstaller automates the scheduling and unattended installation of IFS Cloud deliveries for Partner Hosted, Customer Managed, and On-Premises environments.
When you log in, we receive your name and email address from Microsoft (via your organization's Microsoft/Azure AD account). We use this to identify you, determine your role (Consultant, Customer Administrator, or System Administrator), and control which customers and environments you can access.
The LifeInstaller browser extension observes network requests made by your browser to IFS Lifecycle Experience domains, and captures the authentication token your browser already holds as part of your normal, existing login session with IFS. This token is sent to our backend and stored, encrypted, in a secure secrets store (Azure Key Vault). We use it solely to call IFS's own APIs on your behalf, to retrieve delivery information and initiate downloads that you have requested.
The extension does not access, read, or transmit any data from any website other than the specific IFS domains it is scoped to. It does not collect browsing history.
System Administrators may configure connection details for a customer's IFS Cloud environment (host, realm, client ID) to retrieve live delivery status. The associated client secret is stored exclusively in Azure Key Vault and is never displayed back through the application after initial entry.
For production environments configured to require a database backup before installation, we store the file path or command used to trigger that backup, and a timeout value. We do not generate, inspect, or have visibility into the content of that script, nor do we have any access to the database itself — the script runs entirely on infrastructure you control.
We store records of deliveries scheduled and installed, including package names, version identifiers, environment identifiers, scheduling times, and installation status. Where an installation produces log output (including output from a configured backup script), that log is stored so it can be reviewed in the platform.
We record which System Administrators, Customer Administrators, and Consultants have been granted access to which customers, and by whom, for access control and audit purposes.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
LifeInstaller runs on Microsoft Azure infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Secrets — including buildplace tokens, environment client secrets, and consultant credentials — are stored in Azure Key Vault, a dedicated secrets management service, separate from our general application data.
| Party | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Microsoft Azure | Hosting infrastructure, authentication (Microsoft Entra ID), and secrets storage |
| IFS | API calls made on your behalf using your own buildplace token, to retrieve delivery information you have access to |
We do not share data with any other third party except where required by law, or with your explicit consent.
We retain installation history and logs for as long as your organization's account remains active, to provide audit history and support. Buildplace tokens are refreshed automatically through normal use and are not retained beyond their natural expiry once no longer in active use. You may request deletion of specific records; see "Your rights" below.
If you are located in the UK or EU, you have rights under UK/EU data protection law, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@lifeinstaller.com.
The LifeInstaller Chrome extension requests permission only for the specific IFS domains it needs to observe. It runs no code on, and has no access to, any other website you visit. Uninstalling the extension immediately stops any further token capture.
We will update this page if our data practices change materially, and update the "last updated" date above.
